lip filler healing process
All beauty, all the time for everyone. What is and is not normal after receiving injections of lip, someone who has Them@erin_jahns In this article One of the most impressive advantages of being a beauty editor is to have the opportunity to work with the best and most brilliant brands, products and business experts. Sometimes, in the middle of the emails we send back and back, we have the opportunity to meet an expert for an IRL treatment. Such was the case when I found myself spinning on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood and making my way into the elegant atmosphere of the lobby. But here's the catch: I wasn't completely sure what was going to happen during the appointment or what I was walking on, as Facile offers everything from introductory consultations and vitamin sockets to a wide variety of injectibles. It was almost like a blind date... a blind date of beauty that is. Quickly progress about a half hours later, and I was walking back to my car (practically in the cloud nine) with an ice pack pressed to my lips and an increasingly light puppy (thanks to a dose of subtle). Whether you're wondering how long the lip fillers last, you're curious to see one before and then, or you just want to know what to expect if you ever have a date with the lip injections, we're covered with the help of nurse practitioner. Meet the Expert is a certified nurse at Facile in West Hollywood specializing in cosmetic dermatology. Keep spinning to discover everything you need to know about lip fillings. What are the injections of lip? The injections of lip are a cosmetic procedure used to increase the fullness of the lips by using injectable fillings such as hyaluronic acid, fat or implants. Hyaluronic acid — a naturally present substance in the body — is the most common type of filling used to obtain a plomer pout. The type of selected filling depends entirely on what your goal is for treatment, either to balance the shape of your lips or add the fullness or structure. The cost of lip injections varies depending on where you go and the injector, but most places will charge between $650 to $2000 (Family Charges $750 for Juvederm). Key ingredients is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in the human body. It acts as a damping agent and lubrication for our joints, nerves, hair, skin and eyes. When used in skin care, it acts as a moisture glutton, which means it attaches to water in the cells (while it attracts and sustains the water of the air) causing it to collapse. "I make sure I choose the brand and product based on my customers' goals and what I think will be the best," says Wheeler. "For a patient who gets lip filler for the first time, I love Volbella and Restylane Refyne because of the refined results. If a patient wants more volume, Juvederm Ultra is a great choice. Injection methods will also vary depending on the natural form of patients and the final goal. To avoid blows and blows, I prefer small threads or drops of filling while injecting. " Benefits of lip injections While lip fillers have become synonymous with pumping volume (to the Kylie Jenner), they have a number of other benefits. How to prepare for lip injections First things first: the consultation. For the sake of the most beautiful skin, taking before and after photos is an essential step to address a customer's concerns and follow their progress. (And as it turns out, they are also useful if you are explaining the process of lip injections to thousands of readers.) Curiously, until I found myself in a situation when the option was right there in front of me, I had always had a dream mentality "maybe a day" towards any kind of filling or injecting. And while I had considered and under-key lusted after the idea of a slight blow in the volume of lips, I had no kind of time frame or plan of when I really went for it. I love my lips, and the interest in the filling was not due to dissatisfaction to say so, but more to an interest in improving a characteristic that I already loved. My lower lip is naturally more full than my upper lip (which has a fairly defined shape), and I always thought it would be good to add a little volume to the top of things even outside. So while I had the opportunity, I decided to ask Wheeler for his opinion, and slowly, we started talking about strategy. "During the initial consultation, it is extremely important to discuss and clarify the client's goals," Wheeler explains. "Once I understand what the customer wants in terms of size, volume, shape and subtlety, then I evaluate his anatomy and his lower face in particular. From there, I will convey my thoughts on how full, wide or gloom the patient can go while still looks like his natural being. " For example, Wheeler explained to me that, since my lips are on the thinst side of the spectrum, it would seem unnatural to inject a lot of filling into them, especially on a visit. (I had made it clear immediately that I was only interested in a super subtle aesthetic.) Therefore, once I decided to take the embole, Wheeler decided to go with Volbella, a hyaluronic acid filler that she said would give the soft and subtle look she sought. The game plan: baby steps. Wheeler's golden rule of getting lip shots in a few words? "Make sure that your injector knows exactly what you want and follows if it's not what you had in mind. Personally, I'd rather see the client again a little more than having the client say it was too much," he says. What to expect during lip injections Plan game, it was injection time. And he was nervous. Personally, I'm not much of a needle person, and although I have a relatively high pain tolerance (something that Wheeler commented and I'm strangely very proud of), it's the mental visual of the needle that enters my skin that can send me into a state of catatonia. However, to my surprise, the injection process was much less painful than I expected. I definitely felt it (Wheeler describes the feeling as a "pinching" and I totally agree), but the winning was minimal. But again, this comes from someone who turns the bacon with his fingers in the middle of the battle. "Before injecting, I apply for a topic prescribed force numbing cream on the lips for at least 15 minutes," Wheeler explains. "Then I clean the lipstick and have the patient's ice just before the injections to decrease discomfort and bruises. I tell the patient they'll feel the pinch of the needle pump but I hope it's not significant pain. Once I have finished injecting, I apply a lip ointment and send the customer home with ice instructions and subsequent care. " Side effects Let's remove the obvious side effect of the road: inflammation and bruises. "Immediately after receiving lip injections, there is a certain degree of inflammation, which is completely normal. I tell every patient first time not to judge their lips for at least five days since the swelling may seem like something false or even grunted. The brush is also very normal and expected, but significant pain or irregular bruise outside the lipstick is not normal and the patient must immediately call his injector," says Wheeler. Although he had experienced a minimal swelling on the day and night (in mind that he had an afternoon appointment at noon), the next morning was a completely different story. While the bruises were not very bad, my lips — especially the superiors — were caricatured and one side even a bit swollen. Obviously, I was scared and immediately I was warned of my last-minute decision to receive lip injections the day before. But then I remembered: All this was part of the process, and I would just have to ice, wait for it and use my favorite baseball cap for the weekend. Sure, though even once I had reached the 24-hour mark, my swelling had decreased significantly and my lips were getting settled in their new and natural beings. The verdict: I loved them absolutely, but after a week or so, I began to notice a slight difference in symmetry both in the upper lip and in the lower lip (which both Wheeler and I suspected, as she noticed that each side of my upper lip was taking the filling differently during my initial appointment). Thus, the next always important step: follow-up. "I think it's very important that the customer follow two weeks after their initial appointment so that they can take a look at their lips with the injector and determine if additional touches, adjustments or fillings are needed," Wheeler recommends. "Every person has unique lips and also react differently to each filling." According to Wheeler, many patients, myself included, naturally have asymmetrical lips and one side of the upper or lower part can be larger or more. Curiously, the filling can be used to address these asymmetries, but it can also make them more noticeable. "Occasionally a small dose of Botox is needed to smooth the muscles that lift the upper lip. This is often called and is beautifully combined with lipstick." Which, by the way, is exactly what Wheeler did. She explains: "Basically your lips were / are slightly asymmetrical especially with the movement. Sometimes even when we try to correct it with filling your lips will still show asymmetry. In addition, it was less noticeable when his upper lip was thinner but slightly more noticeable when we knocked it down with filling. This is not weird to adjust, everyone responds differently! As your lips were asymmetrical with the movement, we used a little Botox to decrease the movement of your upper lip (or relax it) which also results in a slightly more full upper lip when you smile." Mission accomplished, and post-following, I am 100% satisfied with the final result. Aftercare As with anything related to needles, there are some essential instructions for further care. Before and after the end of the shot In total, I am 100% happy with my decision to get lip injections, even if it was a quick decision acting in a long time dream. (Like the queen of overthinking things, this was important). And really, change is so subtle that not many would notice. The important thing is that I realize, and I felt more confident about it. Shall I continue with the lipstick? I'm not sure. But now that I have found someone I can trust and know that the process is not terrifying (again, !), I would not hit a tab in a future touch-up.
